Junior Java Developer

Summary

Andersen is hiring a Junior Java Developer for a project developing a digital livestock management platform in Kazakhstan and integrating agricultural services with banking and government systems.

The customer is a financial institution providing a wide range of services for individual and corporate clients. The company is undergoing an active digital transformation, focusing on mobile and online banking, modernization of legacy systems, and implementation of scalable architectures. It is also investing in fintech solutions, API integrations, and the development of ecosystem-driven products, while continuously improving engineering practices and development processes.

The project is focused on developing a digital agricultural platform for livestock management in Kazakhstan, integrated with banking and government systems. It enables farmers to manage animal records, register livestock transactions, access veterinary certificates, and use breeding and animal health analytics. The platform aims to streamline agricultural processes and provide seamless access to digital services.

Responsibilities

• Developing individual backend components under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Participating in designing and implementing APIs and integrations with external systems.
• Identifying, analyzing, and fixing software defects.
• Participating in testing, preparing, and deploying releases.

Requirements

• Experience working with Java 25 and/or Kotlin for 1+ years.
• Experience developing with Spring Boot 3 or an understanding of its core principles; familiarity with Spring Batch.
• Understanding of REST API principles and basic knowledge of OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.
• Basic experience working with PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Familiarity with Apache Kafka and external system integration principles.
• Basic understanding of security mechanisms, including OAuth 2.0 and mTLS.
• Understanding of idempotency, retry mechanisms, timeouts, and resilience patterns for external integrations.
• Level of English – from Intermediate and above.
