Active Directory Administrator (with German)

Summary

Andersen is hiring an Active Directory Administrator with German for a project upgrading and migrating an IT administration platform and enhancing security, automation, and system reliability.

Our customer is an international automotive supplier specializing in the development and production of automotive components and technology solutions. The company combines engineering expertise with advanced manufacturing capabilities to support customers across multiple markets. It focuses on innovative solutions that enhance vehicle performance and user experience while maintaining strong partnerships with leading automotive manufacturers.

The project is focused on upgrading and migrating the Quest Active Administrator platform to Windows Server 2025. It includes optimizing database and security configurations, consolidating administrative settings, and improving Group Policy management, backups, and automation to ensure reliable and efficient IT operations.

Responsibilities

• Upgrading Quest Active Administrator from version 8.9.0.301 to 8.9.1.9, including updating agents on Domain Controllers (DCs).
• Migrating Quest Active Administrator to a new Windows Server 2025 environment, including database migration or creation and agent migration.
• Evaluating Azure SQL Managed Instance as a potential database solution and optimizing database logging and archive log configurations.
• Reviewing and reducing permissions for agents and services in accordance with the Tier 0 security model, including evaluating the use of Group Managed Service Accounts (gMSA).
• Analyzing and consolidating existing security delegations and templates, eliminating duplicate configurations.
• Reviewing and optimizing PowerShell scripts used for standard Organizational Units (OUs).
• Optimizing GPO history management, including cleaning up obsolete GPO history and reducing unnecessary backups.
• Managing and supporting security delegations, GPO backup and recovery, and attribute-level object backup and recovery.
• Administering log collectors for selected Domain Controllers and ensuring proper logging functionality.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Quest Active Administrator environments for 2+ years.
• Experience performing solution upgrades and agent updates.
• Experience with Active Directory Domain Controllers and related administration activities.
• Experience with database migration and/or database setup activities.
• Knowledge of Azure Managed MSSQL Database Service evaluation and implementation scenarios.
• Understanding of permission models and security concepts, including Tier 0 principles.
• Experience with Group Managed Service Accounts (gMSA).
• Experience with Group Policy Objects (GPOs), including backup, recovery, and history management.
• Experience with delegation management and template consolidation.
• Ability to review and evaluate PowerShell scripts.
• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
• Level of German – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
