Summary

Andersen is hiring a Healthcare FHIR Architect in Texas for a project developing scalable healthcare interoperability solutions and enabling standardized data exchange across systems.

The project is focused on developing and expanding FHIR-based healthcare interoperability solutions to support seamless and standardized data exchange across healthcare systems. It includes defining solution architecture, guiding technical implementation, collaborating with healthcare clients, and establishing scalable FHIR practices and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and architecting FHIR-based healthcare interoperability solutions for enterprise clients.
  • Acting as a senior technical advisor to healthcare customers.
  • Analyzing healthcare business, clinical, and integration requirements and translating them into scalable FHIR architectures.
  • Advising clients on FHIR adoption, implementation strategies, and interoperability best practices.
  • Designing healthcare APIs, data models, integration patterns, and interoperability architectures.
  • Leading FHIR solution design from discovery and requirements through implementation.
  • Working closely with healthcare stakeholders, architects, developers, and client technical teams.
  • Reviewing and assessing existing healthcare integration and FHIR implementations.
  • Defining FHIR architecture standards, profiles, implementation guidelines, and reusable patterns.
  • Providing hands-on technical guidance during FHIR implementation and integration.
  • Troubleshooting complex healthcare interoperability and FHIR-related challenges.
  • Supporting and mentoring the internal Healthcare/FHIR team.
  • Helping establish and grow the company's Healthcare FHIR practice.
  • Participating in client workshops, technical discovery, solution design, and presales activities when required.

Requirements

  • Overall experience in solution architecture for 7+ years
  • Strong, demonstrable HL7 FHIR experience.
  • Strong professional experience in the Healthcare / MedTech domain.
  • Proven experience working with healthcare interoperability and healthcare data exchange.
  • Understanding of healthcare systems such as EHR/EMR, clinical systems, healthcare applications, and healthcare data platforms.
  • Experience working with healthcare organizations, providers, payers, or healthcare technology companies.
  • Understanding of healthcare data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Practical knowledge of HIPAA and US healthcare data regulations.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing FHIR solutions in real-world healthcare projects.
  • Architect-level knowledge of FHIR.
  • Experience defining FHIR resources, profiles, extensions, and implementation approaches.
  • Strong understanding of FHIR REST APIs and healthcare interoperability patterns.
  • Experience advising customers on FHIR architecture and implementation.
  • Ability to independently lead FHIR solution architecture and technical decisions.
  • Experience working directly with healthcare clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong consulting and communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex healthcare and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Confidence in leading technical discussions and architecture workshops.
  • Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

  • Experience implementing SMART on FHIR applications.
  • Strong knowledge of US Core and USCDI.
  • Experience with Epic or Oracle Health/Cerner.
  • Experience with HAPI FHIR or other FHIR servers.
  • Experience with healthcare integration engines and cloud healthcare solutions.
  • Healthcare consulting experience.
  • Technical presales experience.
  • Previous experience establishing or leading a FHIR practice.
