AI Developer (Germany)

Summary

Andersen is hiring an AI Developer with German for a project modernizing a regulatory software platform and exploring AI-driven capabilities while ensuring secure and reliable operations.

Our customer operates at the intersection of environmental services, scientific expertise, and technology, helping organizations address complex operational and sustainability challenges. Its activities include environmental monitoring, research, and data analysis, with a focus on delivering reliable information to support informed decision-making. Modern digital solutions and effective data management practices contribute to improving service quality, accessibility, and operational efficiency.

The project is focused on modernizing and consolidating a custom software platform used by a trade supervisory authority. It includes completing the target system, migrating existing modules, decommissioning redundant systems, and providing ongoing operational support. The project also explores future AI and low-code capabilities while maintaining a secure on-premises infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing and integrating AI functions into business applications.
• Prompt design, preparing data for RAG, AI testing, quality monitoring.
• Evaluating and monitoring AI answers.
• Ensuring GDPR and AI Act compliance.
• Supporting AI-assisted software development in the team.

Requirements

• Experience with LLMs (e.g. GPT-4, Mistral, LLaMA) for 3+ years.
• Prompt engineering; context and agentic engineering; vibe coding.
• Experience with RAG, e.g. with FAISS, Qdrant, Milvus or ChromaDB.
• Experience with Python; Spring AI.
• Experience with HuggingFace APIs.
• Strong knowledge of Data processing (OCR, embeddings, vector storage).
• Evaluating and monitoring AI answers.
• Experience with GDPR and AI Act compliance.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.
• Level of German – from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

• Experience with self-hosting open-weight LLMs (vLLM, Ollama) on-premises infrastructure.
• Experience with OCR of German administrative documents (OZG inbox).
