Compass Payment Developer (Kazakhstan)

Summary

Andersen is hiring a Compass Payment Developer to work in a hybrid format in Kazakhstan on a project developing a secure, scalable payment platform and reliable system integrations.

Our customer is a large international technology organization operating in the digital infrastructure domain. It develops and maintains high-load platforms that process and manage significant volumes of data across multiple regions. The engineering landscape includes distributed systems, cloud-based environments, system integrations, and advanced security practices, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and continuous platform evolution.

The project is focused on developing and integrating a modern payment platform that supports reliable and secure payment processing and interaction with external systems. It includes scalable microservices, asynchronous transaction processing, payment status and error handling, with a strong emphasis on resilience, security, and high availability.

Responsibilities

• Developing and enhancing payment processes on Compass Payment.
• Implementing changes to existing payment flows.
• Developing integrations between Compass Payment and external systems.
• Ensuring accurate transmission of payment data between systems.
• Working with various payment transaction statuses and states.
• Implementing error handling and exception scenarios.
• Ensuring proper handling of duplicate requests and other non-standard scenarios.
• Analyzing and resolving issues in payment processes.
• Participating in the investigation of production incidents.
• Analyzing logs and technical data to identify the root causes of incidents.
• Participating in testing and deployment of changes.
• Collaborating with QA engineers, analysts, architects, and other developers.
• Participating in code reviews and technical discussions of proposed changes.
• Supporting existing payment integrations.
• Contributing to improving the stability and reliability of payment processes.

Requirements

• Hands-on commercial experience with Compass Payment for 3+ years.
• Experience developing or enhancing payment processes on the platform.
• Experience integrating Compass Payment with external systems.
• Understanding of the architecture and operating principles of the payment solution.
• Understanding of the complete payment transaction lifecycle.
• Knowledge of different payment statuses and transitions between them.
• Understanding of error handling and exception scenarios.
• Experience troubleshooting payment infrastructure.
• Experience analyzing production incidents.
• Experience working with APIs and integrations.
• Understanding of how payment platforms interact with external systems.
• Ability to analyze logs and identify the root causes of errors.
• Experience participating in payment functionality releases.
• Understanding of reliability and accuracy requirements for financial transactions.
• Experience integrating services with external systems.
• Level of English – from Pre-Intermediate+ and above.

Desired skills

• Experience working on banking, payment, or fintech projects.
