Data Engineer

Summary

Andersen is hiring a Data Engineer for a project building cloud-based data pipelines and a centralized Data Warehouse to deliver reliable, scalable financial data solutions.

The customer is a global investment management firm providing tailored investment solutions to institutional and private clients. It combines financial expertise with long-term investment strategies to help clients achieve their objectives while adapting to changing market conditions. The project is focused on building and maintaining cloud-based data pipelines and a centralized Data Warehouse on Google Cloud Platform. It ensures accurate, complete, and auditable financial data while improving data governance, transparency, and trust for business and finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Gathering and clarifying requirements from analytics and finance stakeholders.
• Designing and evolving DWH architecture (ODS / Data Marts) with audit requirements in mind.
• Developing and maintaining financial data pipelines.
• Designing, implementing, and supporting incremental data pipelines.
• Developing and optimizing data marts in BigQuery (Dataform).
• Analyzing source systems and building data flows from source to consumption.
• Maintaining and developing workflows in Airflow.
• Participating in testing, data validation, and release processes.
• Investigating data quality issues and financial discrepancies.
• Maintaining technical documentation required for audit and data governance.

Requirements

• Experience as an Analytics Engineer / DWH Engineer / Data Analyst working with DWH for 3+ years.
• Hands-on experience with data warehouses.
• Strong understanding of DWH architecture and data layers (ODS, Data Marts).
• Understanding of incremental loads, historical data handling, and deduplication.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience designing and optimizing data marts.
• Experience with BigQuery (partitioning, clustering, cost-aware querying).
• Experience with Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
• Hands-on experience with Python for data processing and ETL tasks.
• Ability to work with stakeholders and translate business needs into data requirements.
• Experience with Data Quality / Data Governance / SLAs.
• Proficiency in Git.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ or above.

Desired skills

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataform, Cloud Storage).
• Experience with Kafka-based data delivery pipelines (streaming, schemas, delivery guarantees).
• Experience with processing frameworks (Spark, Apache Beam).
• Experience with analytics and BI tools (Looker, Tableau).
• Experience working with financial data or financial reporting.
• Experience preparing data for audits or regulatory requirements.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to accelerate coding and data analysis workflows.
