Streamlit Data App Engineer (EU)

Summary

Andersen is hiring a Streamlit Data App Engineer in the EU for a project developing interactive data applications on Databricks to enhance analytics and support drug development.

The customer is a global biopharmaceutical organization focused on developing innovative therapies to address evolving healthcare needs. Through advanced research and development capabilities, the company works on specialized treatment solutions aimed at improving patient outcomes and expanding access to modern healthcare. Its activities span multiple therapeutic areas, with ongoing development programs and a commitment to scientific innovation, quality, and long-term growth across international markets.

The project is focused on developing and enhancing data-driven applications for the drug development domain, built on top of an existing Databricks data platform. It aims to deliver intuitive user interfaces, interactive data applications, and seamless access to analytical insights, improving data accessibility and user experience for scientific and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Building, maintaining, and productionizing Python/Streamlit-based data applications hosted on Databricks Apps.
• Enriching and preparing the existing Lineage Explorer application to full production readiness.
• Designing and building a new data-entry and data-exposure application for the Competitive Intelligence use case, supporting up to approximately 600 users.
• Proactively proposing UX and application architecture solutions for new data applications.
• Collaborating with Databricks and Data Engineering teams responsible for the underlying data foundation.
• Owning application-level deployment, maintenance, operations, and change management.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on Python experience for 4+ years.
• Hands-on experience with Streamlit or similar frameworks for building Python-based data applications.
• Experience building interactive data applications with business logic, data input, and data visualization/exposure, beyond traditional BI dashboards.
• Strong UX/product mindset, with the ability to proactively propose intuitive application flows, layouts, and user interactions.
• Good understanding of backend concepts and data flows, with the ability to work beyond purely frontend/UI concerns.
• Understanding of application maintenance, operations, deployment, and change management processes.
• Ability to work independently, proactively, and with strong ownership of solution design and delivery.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.

Desired skills

• Familiarity with Azure Databricks and data engineering environments.
• Understanding of dbt / data engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with React as an alternative or complementary frontend technology.
• Experience in regulated/compliance-sensitive reporting contexts.
• Pharma/biotech industry experience.
