Product/Software Engineer (Node.js+React)

Summary

Andersen is hiring a Product/Software Engineer (Node.js+React) for a project developing a SaaS testing platform and enhancing its scalable Public API capabilities.

The customer is a technology-driven software quality services provider that helps organizations improve the reliability, usability, and performance of their digital products. It combines quality engineering expertise, flexible delivery models, and technology-enabled services to support web, mobile, and other digital solutions across multiple industries. The company helps businesses accelerate software delivery, improve product quality, and enhance end-user experience through scalable testing and quality assurance services.

The project is focused on developing and enhancing a software testing SaaS platform that connects businesses with a global network of professional testers. It enables web and mobile application testing, issue tracking, tester management, and secure access to testing data through a Public API.

Responsibilities

• Developing and evolving Node.js/TypeScript microservices (~40–50 services) on a mature SaaS platform for software testing.
• Owning features end to end: clarifying the business problem with stakeholders, proposing the most effective solution, writing the test plan before implementation, delivering to production and verifying the result.
• Building event-driven flows on Kafka: fan-out to multiple consumers, idempotent processing, ordering guarantees, failure handling (retries, DLQ, replay), transactional outbox.
• Designing cross-service data aggregation: GraphQL over REST microservices, BFF-style composition, cross-service sorting, filtering and pagination.
• Developing frontend features in React + TypeScript (GraphQL/Apollo).
• Testing own work (no dedicated QA; staging, regression suites, feature-flag rollouts) and reviewing teammates' PRs against requirements and functional correctness.
• Using Claude Code daily in design, planning, implementation and code review, with full ownership of the result.

Requirements

• Backend development with Node.js and TypeScript, including production microservice architectures, for 6+ years.
• Experience with AWS (ECS, SQS, S3).
• Real production experience with Kafka, RabbitmQ and event-driven systems: delivery guarantees, idempotency, event ordering, failure handling and data consistency.
• Hands-on experience with concurrency control, including optimistic locking and conflict handling.
• Deep knowledge of distributed-systems patterns and hands-on experience applying them appropriately: transactional outbox, BFF/aggregation layer, DLQ.
• Familiarity with saga and CQRS.
• Strong code-review skills: verifying work against requirements and spotting functional, security and performance issues.
• Production experience with React and TypeScript: building user-facing features end to end, component architecture, state management, data fetching with GraphQL/Apollo, and frontend testing.
• Experience using GraphQL as an aggregation and composition layer across backend services.
• Experience using Claude Code in daily development workflows, including skills, hooks, MCP, and shared team conventions, with thorough testing and review of AI-generated changes.
• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

• Experience in product companies or small teams without QA, owning features from idea to metrics.
• Experience with feature flags and phased rollouts (LaunchDarkly or similar).
• Experience with JWT-based authorization models and S3 pre-signed URLs.
• Experience migrating microservices to a modular monolith.
• Experience with Koa.
• Ability to read PHP (legacy monolith, <5% of work).
