Full Stack QA Engineer in Kazakhstan

Summary

Andersen is hiring a Full Stack QA Engineer in Kazakhstan for a project developing a secure, scalable payment platform and ensuring reliable payment processing and integrations.

Our customer is a large international technology organization operating in the digital infrastructure domain. It develops and maintains high-load platforms that process and manage significant volumes of data across multiple regions. The engineering landscape includes distributed systems, cloud-based environments, system integrations, and advanced security practices, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and continuous platform evolution.

The project is focused on developing and integrating a modern payment platform that supports secure and reliable payment processing and interaction with external systems. It includes scalable microservices, asynchronous transaction processing, payment status and error handling, with a strong emphasis on resilience, security, and high availability.

Responsibilities

• Performing functional testing of payment services.
• Testing REST APIs and system integrations.
• Verifying interactions between microservices and external systems.
• Testing Kafka-based messaging and asynchronous event processing.
• Validating different payment transaction states, including success, decline, cancel, refund, pending, error, and others.
• Verifying correct transitions between payment states.
• Using SQL to validate transaction processing results.
• Cross-checking API responses, Kafka events, and database records.
• Developing and maintaining automated API tests.
• Testing retry mechanisms, timeouts, duplicate requests, and error recovery scenarios.
• Analyzing logs and tracing requests across services.
• Performing regression testing.
• Developing test scenarios and preparing test data.
• Reporting, documenting, and tracking defects.
• Verifying bug fixes and assessing regression risks.
• Testing iOS and Android mobile applications.
• Analyzing automated test results and contributing to the maintenance of the regression test suite.

Requirements

• Commercial experience in functional and integration testing of backend systems for 3+ years.
• Hands-on experience with REST API testing.
• Experience in integration testing involving multiple interconnected systems.
• Hands-on experience testing synchronous and asynchronous integrations using Kafka.
• Understanding of event-driven architecture principles.
• Strong SQL skills and experience validating data in databases.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated tests for APIs and integrations; the specific programming language or framework is not essential.
• Experience testing retries, timeouts, duplicate requests/events, integration failures, and recovery scenarios.
• Understanding of HTTP, JSON, REST, and authentication/authorization mechanisms.
• Experience analyzing logs and identifying root causes of defects in distributed systems.
• Knowledge of test design techniques.
• Experience validating data consistency across APIs, Kafka, and databases.
• Level of English – from Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

• Experience working on banking, payment, or fintech projects.
• Understanding of the payment transaction lifecycle and payment system principles.
• Experience with test automation using Go, Python, Postman/Newman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
• Experience testing iOS and Android mobile applications.
• Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.
