Solution Architect in Kazakhstan

Summary

Andersen is hiring a Solution Architect in Kazakhstan for a project developing a secure, scalable payment platform and ensuring reliable integrations and high availability.

Our customer is a large international technology organization operating in the digital infrastructure domain. It develops and maintains high-load platforms that process and manage significant volumes of data across multiple regions. The engineering landscape includes distributed systems, cloud-based environments, system integrations, and advanced security practices, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and continuous platform evolution.

The project is focused on developing and integrating a modern payment platform to support secure and reliable payment processing and interaction with external systems. It includes scalable microservices, asynchronous transaction processing, payment status and error handling, with a strong emphasis on resilience, security, and high availability.

Responsibilities

• Designing the target microservices architecture for banking and payment solutions.
• Defining service boundaries and areas of responsibility for individual components.
• Designing microservice communication using REST, gRPC, and Kafka.
• Developing integration architectures for internal and external banking systems.
• Designing synchronous and asynchronous interaction scenarios.
• Designing solutions with high availability, scalability, and high-load requirements in mind.
• Developing and maintaining architecture documentation using C4 and UML.
• Defining API contracts and integration interfaces.
• Defining approaches to API security and inter-service communication security.
• Designing the use of Docker and Kubernetes within the solution architecture. \
• Defining strategies for error handling, retries, and failure recovery.
• Participating in the architectural analysis of existing banking systems and integrations.
• Making architectural decisions and documenting them in technical documentation.
• Advising development teams on the implementation of architectural solutions.
• Assessing technical risks and the impact of architectural changes on the existing system.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in designing microservices architectures for 3+ years.
• Experience in designing distributed system architectures with a large number of interacting services.
• Experience in preparing architecture documentation, including C4 models, UML diagrams, sequence diagrams, component diagrams, and other types of architectural diagrams.
• Hands-on experience in designing REST and/or gRPC APIs.
• Experience in designing integration solutions between internal services and external systems.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or other message brokers.
• Understanding of Event-Driven Architecture and asynchronous service communication.
• Experience in designing highly available and high-load systems.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes from an architectural perspective.
• Understanding of distributed systems security principles, including OAuth, TLS, authentication, authorization, and access control.
• Experience in designing solutions for banking, payment, or other systems with strict requirements for reliability and data consistency.
• Ability to analyze existing architectures, identify architectural constraints, and propose potential evolution paths.
• Ability to select technologies and architectural patterns based on business requirements and technical constraints.
• Experience collaborating with developers, business/system analysts, DevOps engineers, and other technical teams.
• Level of English – from Intermediate and above.
