Backend Developer (.NET)

Summary

Andersen is hiring a Backend Developer (.NET) for a project modernizing a construction management platform and migrating it to a scalable microservices architecture.

Our customer is a technology provider developing digital solutions for the construction and project delivery sector. Its platform is designed to improve coordination, planning reliability, and reporting efficiency across project teams. By bringing together project data, workflows, and performance insights in a unified digital environment, the solution supports more effective collaboration and informed decision-making. The company focuses on helping organizations streamline project execution, improve reporting, and achieve more predictable outcomes through modern technology.

The project is focused on modernizing a construction management platform that connects on-site teams with management and business stakeholders. It involves migrating the existing system to a scalable microservices-based architecture while maintaining uninterrupted operation and supporting enterprise customers across complex construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Developing backend services and APIs using C# / .NET Core / ASP.NET Core.
• Reverse-engineer functionality from the existing production platform.
• Migrating backend functionality to the new microservices-based architecture.
• Writing secure, reliable and maintainable production code.
• Investigating and debugging issues in existing and newly developed services.
• Reviewing existing code, identify technical gaps and propose implementation approaches.
• Documenting findings, current behavior and technical decisions.
• Collaborating with Engineering Managers, Product Managers and other engineers.
• Supporting application-level troubleshooting by reviewing logs and identifying root causes.

Requirements

• Commercial software development experience for 5+ years.
• Strong C# and .NET Core / ASP.NET Core experience.
• Strong experience building backend APIs and services.
• Enterprise software / enterprise IT systems experience.
• Experience with complex production codebases.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving and code-analysis skills.
• Understanding of secure and reliable enterprise development practices.
• Ability to work independently and investigate unfamiliar systems.
• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate+ and above.

Desired skills

• Microservices architecture experience.
• Legacy platform modernisation / migration experience.
• AWS or general cloud experience.
• Experience with algorithmically / computationally complex systems.
• Construction-tech or construction domain experience.
