Andersen is hiring a Backend Developer (.NET) for a project developing scalable digital insurance platforms and delivering secure backend services and system integrations.
The customer is an international insurance company operating across multiple countries, known for expertise in niche markets and commitment to high-quality service. The project is focused on developing and enhancing customer- and agent-facing digital portals using .NET, OutSystems, and Azure technologies. It includes backend services, system integrations, API management, and secure authentication to deliver reliable and scalable digital experiences.
Responsibilities
- Developing, maintaining, and enhancing backend services and APIs using .NET.
- Configuring and supporting authentication and authorization flows using Auth0 and Okta.
- Maintaining Auth0 applications, APIs, connections, roles, permissions, rules, actions, and identity-provider integrations.
- Developing and supporting customer- and agent-facing functionality built with OutSystems.
- Configuring and maintaining API routing and policies in Azure API Management.
- Integrating portal applications with internal core systems and external services.
- Troubleshooting authentication, integration, API, and application issues across the technology stack.
- Collaborating with business analysts, architects, QA engineers, and other developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Participating in technical design discussions, code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Ensuring that solutions follow security, scalability, maintainability, and performance best practices.
- Contributing to improving development standards, documentation, and engineering processes.
Requirements
- Strong commercial software development experience with .NET and C# for 4+ years.
- Experience developing and integrating REST APIs and backend services.
- Hands-on experience configuring and supporting Auth0.
- Good understanding of authentication and authorization concepts, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, roles, and permissions.
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure services.
- Practical knowledge of Azure API Management, including API routing, policies, authentication, and integrations.
- Experience integrating applications with internal systems and third-party services.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work across different parts of the application stack.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
Desired skills
- Commercial experience developing applications with OutSystems; or a strong interest in learning OutSystems and willingness to work with it as a core part of the project.
- Experience with low-code application development platforms will be considered an advantage.
- Experience with Okta administration or integration.
- Experience with Azure Functions, App Services, Application Insights, or other Azure services.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Experience working with customer-facing or agent-facing portals.
- Experience in the insurance or financial-services domain.
- Understanding of secure software development practices.
- Experience supporting production applications and investigating incidents.
